Experience

Coral started as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, handling non-contentious and contentious IP matters within the Southeast Asia region. She relocated to Hong Kong in 2001 when China acceded to the WTO, and re-qualified as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong, to be at the forefront of the developing IP landscape in the Greater China region.

Since then, Coral has led a successful team of IP practitioners across Asia, in offices in China, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, to provide pan-Asia IP solutions to multinational companies in industries ranging from personal care, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, retail to hand tools, sportswear and gaming.

Leveraging on her unusual dual qualifications and hands-on experience across Asia, Coral excels at trade mark portfolio management, filing strategies and clearance, prosecution, opposition, revocation and invalidation actions. She has also coordinated anti-counterfeiting strategies, multi-jurisdictional investigations, customs raids, settlement negotiations, interim injunctions and infringement actions.

Coral’s IP commercialisation experience extends to preparing and reviewing non-disclosure agreements, memorandums of understanding, research and development agreements, joint venture agreements, software development agreements, technology transfer agreements, technology and patent licensing agreements, franchise agreements, character merchandising agreements, and manufacturing agreements.
