Coral started as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, handling non-contentious and contentious IP matters within Southeast Asia. She relocated to Hong Kong in 2001 when China acceded to the WTO, and re-qualified as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong, to be at the forefront of the developing IP landscape in Greater China.
Since then, Coral has led a successful team of IP practitioners across Asia, in offices in China, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, to provide regional solutions to multinational companies in industries such as personal care, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, sportswear, automotive and gaming.
Leveraging on her unusual dual qualifications and hands-on experience across Asia, Coral excels at trade mark and design portfolio management, filing strategies, clearance, prosecution, opposition, invalidation and revocation actions. She has also coordinated anti-counterfeiting strategies, multi-jurisdictional investigations, customs raids, interim injunctions and infringement actions.
Coral’s IP commercialisation experience extends to non-disclosure agreements, research and development agreements, joint venture agreements, software development agreements, technology transfer and licensing agreements, franchise agreements, character merchandising agreements, manufacturing and distribution agreements.
